  I stopped in this afternoon feeling nostalgic about my college days and eating Subway while cramming for exams. I happened to have a T-mobile Tuesday promotion with me. The young man working there first tried to refuse my coupon by saying "there is no scanner here". But the promotion didn't even have a barcode on it to scan in the first place (I've used the T-Mobile Tuesday promotion at various other restaurants with no problem). Then I asked politely if they had pitabread, and he passive-aggressively pointed to the menu and said "only choose one of these". Ok, I then proceeded to assemble my sandwich while acting politely and thanked him for the service. But in return, he just stared at me with discontent and did not say ANYTHING at all. I used to work in restaurants and this is a simple fact: no matter how good the food is, if the service was remotely aloof let alone passive-aggressive, the food won't taste good at all. And let's not kid ourselves this is a fast food sandwich place, I don't expect the service or the food to be top notch. But how about a simple "thank you" when the customer did everything with courtesy?
